The books finally arrived a couple of days ago and have now been sent out to everyone who had made a pledge and/or pre-ordered it! Thank you to all for being so patient while we got things sorted out with the printers.

December’s Mail Me Art winner is Maria Simavilla. Maria has won an iPod Touch skin designed by Jon Burgerman and donated by Infectious, a Design-a-Qee designed and donated by animator and illustrator Alex Amelines, and a signed copy of the book Mail Me Art: Going Postal with the World’s Best Illustrators and Designers.

Well, here it is at last! The original Mail Me Art project’s online shop is now open!

A selection of mail art submitted to the first Mail Me Art project can now be purchased here. Work currently for sale includes mail art by Alberto Cerriteno, Nick Deakin, Stephen Donnelly, Ryan Snook and more!

Due to the huge number of submissions that were received we are not able to have every piece available in the shop. We will be adding more artwork to the shop over time, but if there is a particular item of mail art (from the first project only) that you are interested in that is not listed in the shop, please email us.

You can also buy an exclusive signed copy of the book Mail Me Art: Going Postal with the World’s Best Illustrators and Designers through the shop, which will come with a small piece of mail art included. This offer is only available when purchasing the book through us.

All artists whose work is sold will receive 70% from the sale of their artwork, less any fees incurred, as originally stated in the terms of the project. Payment will be sent through Paypal, so if you are an artist who has changed their email address and/or Paypal details, please let us know!

Rebecca Horwood’s wonderfully intricate piece of mail art is our October winner. Rebecca will receive a signed limited edition print from Catalina Estrada and a signed copy of the book Mail Me Art: Going Postal with the World’s Best Illustrators and Designers. A big thank you to everyone for all the fantastic mail art that has been sent so far!

A selection of artwork from both Mail Me Art projects will be on view as part of a mini exhibition and book-signing event at Borders book store in Leicester, UK.

Included will be work from Jon Burgerman, Dan May and Junichi Tsuenoka, along with many others. There will also be a preview of a small number of the current Mail Me Art 2 submissions.

The book Going Postal with the World’s Best Illustrators and Designers will be available to buy, with Darren on hand to talk about the projects and sign books.

Borders is at Fosse Park, located at the M1/M69 interchange (junction 21) in the East Midlands. It offers a huge selection of books, music, film and gifts – plus a Starbucks. If you’re in the area, come along and pay us a visit! You will find us on the first floor of the store.
