Submit Mail Art

There are currently no active Mail Me Art projects

At this present time you may send us mail art, but we will not acknowledge whether it was received or not. By sending us mail art while there is no active project you understand that what happens to the mail art is at our discretion; we might frame it and put it on the wall, we might save it for a future project, but the truth is you’ll never know. If you really want to send us something because of some uncontrollable creative itch, you can, but until there’s an active project running sending us something is just for the fun of it. :)

How to submit your mail art

For more information about the project, please click here. If you’re after some inspiration, you can see examples of work from the first Mail Me Art project here.

So what’s in it for you?
Until there’s an active project running… Not a lot! :)

Before starting on your submission(s), please take time to read the important points below:

  • As before, there is no limit on the size, shape or media that may be used.
  • Please put your name and email address clearly on the outside of the artwork.
  • Write ‘empty’ or ‘open me’ on the mail art so that we know whether we need to look inside.
  • No offensive or obscene images or text may be used. If you’re not sure whether something is offensive, then it probably is!
  • The exterior of the envelope, postcard, box or package is the artwork, please do not place it inside an additional envelope.
  • One piece of mail art per artist may be sent each month. If more than one piece is sent each month, the first piece received by us will be the one considered for the monthly prize.
  • By posting your work to the project, you are giving us your consent to use your mail art in any potential promotional or published material relating to Mail Me Art and/or the project.
  • If you are sending work from outside the UK or Europe, please make sure that the customs declaration shows the value of the piece as $0, as we are unable to pay the high import taxes that are often charged on items entering the UK.
  • Artists will not be required to contribute to the cost of any of the follow: the exhibition, the promotion of the event, or the publication and printing of a Mail Me Art book.
  • Unsold artwork cannot be returned to artists.

The address to send your work to is:
The Little Chimp Society
159 Logan Street
Market Harborough
LE16 9AP
United Kingdom

We look forward to receiving your work!

  1. Hi Darren, I’m a big fan of this project
I also run a mail art and storytelling project called ShoeTales. It invites people to draw, write and tell the story of their memorable shoes on a postcard, and send it back. Please have a look, and take part / let people know about it if you can!
In return I’ll put a link on my site for you.
    Best,
    Sarah
